Chapter Seventeen:Kathy Kohm: Circumstantial:

 Chapter 17

1981 became 1982.  Time just kept on passing.  For the Kohm family; time stood still.  They kept Kathy’s room just like she left it.  1982 became 1983.  No charges were ever filed against Stanton Gash despite the fact that his car was mired in the mud 383 feet from the spot where her body was dumped on the very day she was murdered. No charges were filed despite the fact that Gash bought that inexplicable metal detector. No charges were filed despite the fact that he told three different stories about his whereabouts on the day of her murder.  No charges were filed despite the fact that he replaced his car trunk liner 5 days after Kathy’s murder.  No charges were filed despite the fact that Stanton Gash left the state, in a rented car, rather that appear at a second interview and polygraph examination by police.  No charges were filed despite the fact that he wrote a note apologizing for something that he did but dared not name. No charges were filed despite his suicide attempt after returning from Florida knowing he was facing a polygraph.  No charges were filed despite the fact that Kathy was kidnapped from a gated community…the pool of suspects was drastically limited by those gates.  It had to be someone with access.

It’s all circumstantial but when you put it all together…it is considerable.
