Jennifer Stockrahm: 1997, Harmony, Indiana
Harmony is a little town that is very close to Brazil, Indiana. If you are driving through the area you might just assume this is still Brazil. But, Harmony has its own Post Office even though Google Earth immediately sent me to New Harmony in Southern Indiana.
Jennifer Stockrahm was born on March 3rd 1975 to Nelson and Joan Stockrahm. Tragically, Jennifer’s father passed away in 1978. Her Mother, Joan Stockrahm, was then left with three daughters to raise alone.
Jennifer Stockrahm was 21 in 1997. She had been seeing a dangerous man who was almost twice her age in the year before her murder.
He had fled to Arizona, California and Mexico once in the Fall of 1996, after beating her up according to an article in the Banner Graphic Newspaper. It was also reported that Jennifer had informed police of some of his alleged illegal activities.
When he came back to Indiana; he asked her for help in getting his business “computerized”. What exactly was this business? The two were supposed to meet to talk about this plan.
On February 12th, 1997, Jennifer was shot and her car was set on fire with her in it. The crime happened just a few hundred feet away from her Mother’s home in Harmony, Indiana.
Robert Dean Davis, 40, was arrested on February 14th 1997 in Terre Haute. He faced 28 charges when he was arrested. Most of them seem to relate to receiving stolen goods.
This murder case seems like an open and shut case but Robert Dean Davis was not officially accused or convicted of this crime. Perhaps there was a lack of hard evidence.
Did Robert Dean Davis kill Jennifer? If not, who did?
Maybe there is someone out there who knows something. Maybe they felt loyal in the past but they no longer feel that same loyalty. People change. Relationships change. Maybe someone feels like it is time to speak up.
Perhaps someone saw something on the day of February 12th 1997 that did not seem important then. Sometimes we realize the meaning of what we saw later.
Jennifer’s Mother and sisters deserve answers. Jennifer deserves Justice. We can’t bring her back but we can hold the person who murdered her responsible.
